We were approached by Lookers Stockport, who were in the process of reopening a showroom that had been empty and disused for several years. The showroom was very dated, not just aesthetically, but in many other ways too. After listening to how the company wanted to make use of the showroom moving forward, we proceeded to compile options and drawings for our proposed works.
After numerous meetings and draft designs, we offered several refurbishment options to Lookers. The main requirements being:
· A sleek, modern looking and aesthetically pleasing refurbishment.
· A refurbishment that was fit for purpose and met / exceeded the needs and expectations of the staff and customers.
· A refurbishment that is extremely energy efficient and has a low carbon footprint.
· A refurbishment that would be a safe working environment for both staff and customers.
The refurbishment started with a complete electrical re-wire. New and additional sockets and light switches were installed, safety tested and certified.
A new reception area and customer service counter was created to compliment the new layout of the showroom.
The next phase was redecoration. Some skimming, filling and painting, as well as new energy efficient glass fronting and entrance doors. A new suspended ceiling was then installed with new super-efficient LED lighting panels and insulated ceiling tiles.
Finally, the exterior of the showroom. All external areas were weeded, and any shrubs, trees and grassed areas tidied and cut back. This was followed by the installation of new illuminated signage and complete pressure wash of all external areas.
